September, 2001: TIP #5xxxx

Archives:

Tip#1: Begin at the beginning

Tip #2: See the whole

Tip #3: Learn to walk before you run

Tip #4: Read, read, read!

Never take advice from blowhard authors with personal websites.

Actually, I'm very serious about this. What I'm saying is, write what's in your heart. Write what you're passionate about, and others will be passionate about it as well. Never listen to people in the writing biz who try to prognosticate on what is selling, or what is not selling.

If you love what you're writing, we will love it, too. And, most importantly, it will find a home.

It isn't easy in this economy to be free of outside influences, but as Billy Jean King once said, "It's not supposed to be easy. If it were easy, more people would be doing it."
